The Founder Hotline, a retro radio-style live call-in show for founders
A note from Karthik KP Puvvada:
"I'm KP, community builder, podcaster and currently the Program Director at Day One. In the last 2 years, I've spoken to thousands of entrepreneurs and I've observed a widespread problem.
Most founders are bottling up mental health challenges and struggles. Partly because they assume they need to fake it till they make it & partly because they don’t have access to the right network of people around them who can advise, guide and help in an affordable way. This is an ecosystem-wide problem that we believe is worth giving a shit about.
So we're launching a fun, new, and free initiative called The Founder Hotline, a retro radio-style live call-in show where founders from anywhere in the world could call in (anonymously or with their real names) to share what they are struggling with in a safe and empathetic environment.
Founders are encouraged to call in and ask the questions "on air" that they would never ask in a Fireside chat or surface the topics and personal struggles that they would never bring up in a fancy AMA. Topics like mental health, co-founder conflicts, layoffs, market volatility will be addressed.
The show will air on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am EST. You're welcome to dial in or email at any time with a question."
As a Day One insider, we invite you to get an early glimpse at the website before our big reveal on Product Hunt tomorrow and join The Twitter Space at 11am EST! Are there any special guests that you'd like us to invite on the show? Reply to this email and let us know. We have a pretty fantastic lineup of speakers coming together behind the scenes.
In this event, Michelle Marcelline from Typedream (a simple website builder) will be joining KP in a live session to show us how to build a beautiful landing page in one hour. We’ll be accepting one volunteer who wants to turn their current — let’s face it — crappy webpage into a masterpiece. Attendees are welcome to follow along and build their own landing page on Typedream at the same time, or just watch and build one later.
As an audience member, expect to:
Learn how to use Typedream (and other similar simple web tools) to quickly and cheaply build advanced products and websites.
Meet and network with KP, Michelle, a handful of top names in the low-code and no-code spade, and other attendees.
Get a glimpse of what KP’s Build Track at Day One is all about.
Applications are open for The Build Track
Over the last few years, the market has seen a meteoric rise of extremely powerful build tools like Shopify, Stripe, Webflow, and Bubble. With these tools, most entrepreneurs no longer need to hire a technical developer or an agency to build a robust mobile app or web app for their business.
But, most entrepreneurs don’t know about these tools…yet. That’s why we’re partnering with Karthik "KP" Puvvada, a prolific no-code builder, podcast host, angel investor, founder coach and a leader of the "build in public" movement, to launch The Build Track.
We’re bringing together a private community of the brightest minds in the space to teach bootstrapped entrepreneurs, indie-hackers, side-hustlers, and hobbyists to learn how to use these tools to quickly and cheaply build a prototype or V1 of a product.
Over the course of 6 weeks, our promise to fellows is for them to walk away with a prototype or V1 of a product. Our bigger goal is for them to walk away with at least one paying customer.
Have a friend, family member, or colleague who doesn’t stop talking about starting a business? We’d love to help them. Refer them here. If you’re a fellow and they are also accepted, you’ll both get 10% off your membership fee this year.
